Desiré Alessi (b. 1992, Brazil) is an architect and designer, with a Master’s degree in Furniture Design from Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul.
Her approach places emphasis on materiality, drawing inspiration from historical investigations into the use of materials—particularly glass and metal. She intertwines timeless craftsmanship techniques with contemporary perspectives and processes. Her work spans furniture design, bespoke pieces, and spatial design.
She is currently presenting her first collection during Milan Design Week 2025, debuting Fragmentos Entrópicos—a series born from an investigation that explores the fusion of glass and metal, creating space for the unpredictable. By introducing inclusions of soft metals into glass, the process invites an element of entropy: as the fragments dissolve into molten droplets, they disperse within the structure and form suspended air pockets—unpredictable imprints of material transformation.
